I hope no one minds but I thought it best to reopen this thread as I need to sort out connections. Thanks for helping make community forums a great place. We are trying to better understand customer views on social support experience, so your participation in this interview project would be greatly appreciated if you have time. If I have misunderstood this issue, please feel free to let me know. Maybe you could get some useful information. It seems that other members also asked this kind of issue before: Since you have updated the access to 2016, whether the real issue is related to the "Provider=.12.0", we would update it to the matched version as your access " .16.0". Provider = .12.0 Data Source = C:\myFolder\myAccessFile.accdb Jet OLEDB:Database Password = MyDbPassword This is the connection string to use when you have an Access 2007 - 2013 database protected with a password using the "Set Database Password" function in Access. When I tried to form a connection using OLEDB to the ACCDB file, the test failed as it was unrecognized. >I thought I would upgrade to Access 2016 in the hope/expectation that Visual Basic 2015 Express (particularly SP2) would connect OK. Could you share us the detailed error you got in your side?
